Acknowledgments The material which you now hold is based on experiences and observations gained over 25 years. Originally developed as a series of 51 weekly columns for the Washington Business Journal, the base material was later revised and expanded to create a book published by Harper & Row (now HarperCollins) entitled Media Marketing. Portions of that book, in turn, were reprinted in the Public Relations Quarterly (Summer, 1989) and the Public Relations Directory for the metropolitan Washington area (Fall, 1989). Later, the book was revised, updated, and published by Dearborn Financial Publishing, Inc., under the title, Media Power. The current Web edition has been refined to deal directly with the needs of professionals and business executives. Core advice and concepts have been supplemented with examples and programs for a professional readership and the online community.
